"Pestilence," by Mary Soon Lee, Frequent Contributor

Pestilence,
Mary Soon Lee,

Yes, lately, it's been worse,
I've asked for help,
but pest control said no, sorry,
there's nothing they can do,
so, here I am, on my own,
and the infestation spreading,
commas multiplying, partying, mocking me,
inserting themselves with feeble excuses,
such as maintaining momentum, avoiding ambiguity,
being experimental, breaking rules,
for instance, the rule against ending with one,

Poet's Notes: This poem is neither serious nor consequential, but I am fond of it. I frequently wrestle with the art of punctuating poetry. (The commas usually win.)
