A Thanksgiving Poem by the Editor

I am grateful

to be allowed to paint
with my words as pigment
thoughts as canvas
dreams as perspective
in a country that takes freedom
of expression for granted
and allows me to do so
without fear of imprisonment.
Thank you United States Constitution.
May you always be engraved in stone
immutable unless duly amended
and as did I when young and strong
may there always be those
who are willing to step forward
to defend you with their bodies
as I do now with my soul.
