Poem of the Day: "mummy" by Ross Balcom, Frequent Contributor

mummy
Ross Balcom

by the Nile
I walk

garbed in
centuries' gray

looking
for my soul

amidst
the rushes

by the Nile
I weep

muttering
ancient prayers

searching
the water

for a face
that is mine

by the Nile
I walk

yearning
for a pathway

to the past
and its splendor

the kingdom
of the Sun

by the Nile
I weep

Poet's Notes: This weeping mummy needs a big hug. Let's all give him one.
