One Day
Sierra July

Border between my heart and yours

At 1st made of steel, you can’t penetrate
1st date: wood, you are knocking
1st kiss: glass, you see through
1st three years: paper, you could crumple,

But instead gently attempt to fold

1 day, I want that border
To be stardust so I can
Blow it all away and wish
For a happy end

Poet’s Notes: Thinking of how people frequently put up boundaries about unknown people and situations then bravely letting them come down, I wrote this, knowing how important 1 moment can be.
