Review of "In Vino Veritas" by Howard Altmann

"In Vino Veritas" by Howard Altmann was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on December 6, 2013.  A link to the poem, including the poet's notes, may be found here:

The poem is comprised of five stanzas of seven lines each.  Each stanza, except for the last, follows the pattern:

And I gave myself to X.
And X gave to me.
And I gave myself to Y.
And Y gave to me.
And I gave myself to Z
And Z took what I gave
And passed it to Y.

The last stanza violates the rule, with the last two lines taking the form:

And Z took what I gave
And passed it to A.

The first four stanzas speak to the web of direct interconnectedness between humanity and the earth.  The last stanza speaks to the indirect interconnectedness of humanity with the universe.
