Review of "I Love the Hour Just Before" by Todd Boss

"I Love the Hour Just Before" by Todd Boss, the director of external affairs at the Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis, was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on November 8, 2013.  A link to the poem, including the poet's notes, may be found here:

The title of the poem acts as the "zeroth" line--read, "I Love the Hour Just Before / a party," with "a party the first part of the first line.  The lines are short and crisp, in keeping with the slightly frenzied feeling that people might experience as they prepare for and anticipate a party or social gathering.  The last line plays on the breathing of wine and the breathless feeling of the excited party guests.
