Review of I saw a man pursuing the horizon by Stephen Crane

I saw a man pursuing the horizon by Stephen Crane (1871 - 1900) (pictured), best known as the author of The Red Badge of Courage (1895), was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on April 21, 2013.  Some men are dreamers, are obsessed, and no matter how ridiculous their dreams, they will pursue them.  I am not sure whether the poet desired to mock or admire such men.
